FAST-ACT® (First Applied Sorbent Treatment - Against Chemical Threats)

FAST-ACT® Chemical Hazard Containment and Neutralization System: FAST-ACT is a NON-TOXIC formulation that immediately contains or neutralizes acids, bases, liquid and vapor chemical spills and releases (including Chemical Warfare Agents) –safely and in a single response tool.

FAST-ACT provides safety benefits beyond traditional measures. The broad range of utility makes FAST-ACT a valuable tool for a variety of environments including public and commercial transportation, government facilities, laboratories, production facilities, shopping and entertainment venues, police, fire, and other emergency response, healthcare facilities, any place where hazardous chemicals are a potential threat.
FEATURES:
The FAST-ACT formulation is non-toxic, non-flammable, non-corrosive, and significantly reduces both liquid and vapor hazards. Since the dry powder neutralizes threats upon contact, on-site incident management and clean-up times are reduced. The FAST-ACT sorbent powder comes in the form of bulk powders, mitts, and microfiber towels.

FAST-ACT Decon Mitt is embedded with the non-toxic FAST-ACT proprietary powder and allows for safe and easy wiping and handling of chemical spills and neutralized industrial materials.

Works Quickly:

FAST-ACT works quickly to significantly reduce hazards associated with common industrial chemicals including acids, acidic/caustic gases, organic compounds, phosphorus and sulfur compounds, and many industrial solvents. By the nature of FAST-ACT’s innovative chemistry, hazards are chemically bound to the surface of the powder minimizing off-gassing.

One Formula – Many Applications:

FAST-ACT can be safely applied to any liquid spill or vapor release enabling Emergency Responders to utilize one technology when faced with a wide variety of known or unknown chemical hazards.

APPLICATIONS :

Unknown Chemical Release:
When an unknown chemical spill occurs, all of the FAST-ACT products can assist. The product sorbent should be directly applied to fully contain the liquid.

Chemical Contamination:
When chemical contamination shows up, the FAST-ACT Mitt and Microfiber Towel Kit are great for removing the chemical residue from the surface.

Smells/Vapors of Unknown Origin:
In some circumstances, the FAST-ACT Mask can be used to alleviate smells and chemical vapors. The product works for emergency situations, or for odor reduction applications.

Chemical Attack:
When an unknown strike happens involving chemicals, including chemical warfare agents, FAST-ACT products can be used to clean up chemical contamination on surfaces, gear, and air spaces.

Decontamination of Personal Equipment:
The FAST-ACT sorbent powder is ideal for decontaminating personal equipment like weapons, masks, boots, and other tactical equipment. The mitt is great for a quick wipe down, and the microfiber towel can be used for the finer detail level cleaning. The powder bottles quickly apply the FAST-ACT sorbet powder to a variety of surface efficiently.

Cleanup of a Chemical or Fuel Spill:

Rapidly apply FAST-ACT sorbent powder in bulk to a chemical spill from a shaker or pail.

Unknown Hazard Exposure:

Once the incident is over, treat the residual liquid chemical with bulk FAST-ACT sorbent powder.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:


Microfiber Towel Kit :
1. Tear open the pack.
2. Carefully remove the roll of 2 microfiber towels from the package.
3. Carefully unroll the towels on a flat surface. Keep the black towel folded at this time, as it contains the FAST-ACT powder.
4. Using the green-colored towel, blot the contaminated surface to absorb the excess chemical.
5. Wipe the surface if the green towel is not saturated.
6. Carefully unfold the black-colored towel to expose the FAST-ACT powder contained within.
7. Spread the FAST-ACT powder onto the surface using the towel. Continue wiping to get powder into full contact with the surface.

50-Gram Bottle Pack

1. Tear open the packet at the notch.
2. Remove 1 FAST-ACT 50-Gram bottle and shake for 5 seconds.
3. Flip open cap dispenser.
4. Invert bottle.
5. Aim in direction of the surface for powder and decontamination application.
6. Squeeze bottle to dispense powder on to the surface.
7. Zip close bag for storage and between uses.

Decon Mitt
1. Tear packet at the notch and remove decon mitt.
2. Unfold mitt and insert hand, tightening strap.
3. Decontaminate surface by rubbing with pad side to remove liquid contamination. If liquid contamination is still present or suspected, repeat process with a new decon mitt.

USER CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:

If the seal has been broken, discard product immediately. Prolonged exposure to the atmosphere will degrade product effectiveness. Close lid between uses. Read and thoroughly understand all directions for use before utilizing the product.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Inspect the unit at least monthly. Check for signs of damage or misuse. Ensure that all text on the label is still readable. Store in a dry place.

DISPOSAL:
The EPA often requires neutralized hazardous materials to be disposed of as if it has not been neutralized. Therefore, the deployed product should be disposed of in accordance to local, state and federal regulations. For federal regulations (U.S.A.) follow 40 CFR 261, Subpart C, Characteristic Hazardous Wastes, and 40 CFR 261, Subpart D, Listed Hazardous Wastes.
