The Vegetation Still Kit is a water collection and purification kit designed to be used in survival situations where primary sources of water are difficult to find, or in conjunction with other water collection and purification techniques. The kit relies on a well known technique whereby the water contained in plant material is released through thermal action generated by containment in a plastic bag and exposure to sunlight. The concept is to set up several stills in a given area to maximize the potential to collect enough potable water for survival. The water collected in this manner is purified by the action of the still. However, it is important to be sure that only non-poisonous plant material is contained in the bags.
The kit contains: three 25 gallon lightweight polybags at 1.5 mil thickness; repair tape; plastic tubing to use for drinking out of the collection bag without disturbing the still; water purification tablets and two one liter water collection bags. The water purification tablets are intended to be used to purify potential opportunistic water sources you come across while the stills are in use. The water collection bags are for use with the tablets and for collecting water from the still.

Each tablet purifies one liter (32oz.) of water and is conveniently sealed in an individual child resistant foil pouch. The individual tablet pouches are stored inside a re-sealable (subdued in color) storage pouch that can be packed away almost anywhere. To use, simply drop one tablet into one liter of water and wait the required time.
